About Kayla

​ I am an aspiring journalist at the University of Alabama with a dream of becoming a sports broadcaster. I have written four stories in my freshman journalism class thus far and cannot wait to continue on in my journey and hopfeully fulfill my dream.
I was born and raised on a small Island in Florida called Sanibel. My love for sports and journalism started off at an early age when my dad (who is quite the sports connoisseur) would take me to any football, baseball, and basketball game he could. I would be so engulfed by the athletes and the game but my eyes would always end up falling to the people on the sidelines, who were interviewing and evaluating the players and game. Ever since then I knew that my goal and dream was to be just like them.
